WORK07027 2022 Work Placement
The primary objective of the work placement is to provide the student with broader skills and knowledge of the working environment. Furthermore, it will allow the student an opportunity to apply theoretical and practical knowledge gained during their programme of study to a work setting. It is a compulsory element in semester 6 and students go on work placement for a minimum period of 8 weeks. The student will not be eligible for an award until the placement has been successfully completed. The placement is supervised by tutors visiting the student at their place of work. The student must keep a weekly reflective diary of the work undertaken. A report from the company's student supervisor, based on the performance, is forwarded to the appropriate department in the Institute on completion of the placement.
