Description

This module provides a varied & stimulating introduction, which enables you to understand & appreciate the extensive range of contemporary issues facing Festival & Event organisations across the World. Studying this module provides you with a structured & detailed examination of issues pertaining to for example, event tourism, Festivals & events in society, events ritual & performance, consumption, place & representation, social movements, mobilities, along with emerging trends such as micro events, pop ups, the sharing economy, virtual & changing demographics.

It enhances an ability to critically review the influences of such issues & trends upon the International Festivals & event Industry.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

Interpret the diverse range of contemporary issues facing festivals & events across the World

Analyse the nature, effects & implications of key contemporary issues within festivals & events

Evaluate the overall influences of emerging contemporary issues upon the international festival & event management sector
