Description

Students are required to complete a work-based project as part fulfilment of this Programme. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Identify, conceptualise, formulate and communicate a proposal for a work-based project on an occupational safety and health topic. 

2.

Prepare and maintain a programme of work throughout the lifecycle of the project.

3.

Identify the objectives of the project and formulate an appropriate methodology to achieve the objectives.

4.

Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the methodology in an appropriate manner.

5.

Manage a personal learning process, demonstrate monitoring procedures throughout the development of the project and recognise the resource requirements of the project.

Indicative Syllabus

This module is undertaken by learners over 1 academic semester. Students are encouraged to undertake a work-based project of interest to them (or their employer). A supervisor is assigned to ensure that the project is appropriate, and to guide the student through the entire project process. 

In undertaking this module, the learner will develop the skillset required to manage a work-based project. They will appraise and assess existing work-based practices on the specific occupational safety and health topic they have selected. The student will present the outcome and findings of their project in a formal report.
