Description

This module addresses the area of research methodology and its application to business. The module considers the most common forms of research methods and analysis techniques used in Business & Social Sciences.The purpose of the module is to ensure learners are familiar with appropriate research theory and techniques. It will enable learners to conduct independent research into an area of academic interest relevant to business.

 

 

 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

Understand the role of research in business

Comprehend the concepts of research philosophy and research design

Conduct a literature review

Differentiate between quantitative and qualitative research techniques

5.

Evaluate data collection and analysis techniques.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Students will be introduced to the basic principles and techniques of research through a series of lectures and workshops.

Students will be required to demonstrate research knowledge and competency through assessments of academic research and write-up (i.e. literature review) and design (research methodology paper) .
