QUSU06035 2019 QS Organisation and Management
This module introduces various thoughts and practices related to construction management, motivation, communication and team work for Professional Quantity Surveyors who work on behalf of the Client and Project Quantity Surveyors who work directly for contractors.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Interpret the management of an organisation within the construction industry
Compare the various methods of communication within the construction industry
Discuss the methods of document management and data management systems
Explain the principles of working in teams and motivation of persons
Discuss in detail the design team personnel, list the main contract documents and elaborate on the construction process
Teaching and Learning Strategies
In class lectures and practical exercises, with independent learning. This module will be delivered using blended learning techniques using Moodle, whereby educational material and relevant background information will be uploaded to Moodle. Continuous assessment assignments, student submission of assignments and student feedback will all utilise online learning using Moodle.

40% ongoing continuous assessment and 60% final exam at the end of the semester
