Description

The aim of this module is to develop the student's ability to independently apply the knowledge, skills and competences they have acquired in the course, in the planning and completion of a final year project.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Source, select and critically evaluate the literature on a select topic related to pharmaceutical science.

2.

Identify appropriate research questions or test hypotheses and design methodologies, for data collection, collation and analysis .

3.

Independently Plan and Manage project activities to deliver a quality project according to agreed deadlines with minimum supervision.

4.

Interpret data and/or literature findings in relation to a defined research question or a stated research hypothesis

5.

Communicate the research in both written and oral forms displaying competent scholarly writing and referencing according to standard conventions.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Independent Learning

The project module is an independent, self-directed study, reflecting the level 8 stage in the learning programme.  However each student is allocated a project supervisor who will meet regularly with the students for individual tutorials, guidance and review.  Guidance will be timetabled weekly with their tutor in line with department policy.

Module Assessment Strategies

The Pharmaceutical Project is assessed as 100% Continuous Assessment.

Project Management and Planning : Timely delivery of project milestones, (20%)
