Description
This module prepares the learner for transition into performance related industry. Personal responsibility and self- motivation are encouraged. Project work will demonstrate accumulative skills in scenographic design. Project work will be partly realised in a professional environment through performance, film or multi media. Learners will demonstrate an awareness of organised work practices and integrate them into the realisation of the project, applying skills and understanding of responsibilities on a professional level .Learners will also develop skills in monitoring, archiving and recording their work. Contact with the industry is an important component of the course and industry practitioners will have specialist input. Learners will prepare a portfolio of their work to a professional standard; prepare, organise and present a showcase exhibition, as well as fine tuning presentation and communication skills
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
1.
Devise and produce a performed/filmed/multimedia project that demonstrates accumulative skills in scenographic design, applying effective management skills in the realisation of the project.
2.
Demonstrate an awareness of consistent, organized professional work practices.
3.
Co-ordinate, monitor and record the graduation project, applying skills and understanding of production objectives and collaborative responsibilities.
4.
Have prepared a high quality portfolio for professional presentation that exhibits full potential and competency.
5.
Have specialist input from professional practitioners in the industry.
6.
Plan, prepare and present graduation showcase exhibition and related activities.
Module Assessment Strategies
Continuous assessment: evaluating self-direction and motivation in project process and outcome of performance or film.
Presentation: evaluate final performance /film production. Archiving/recording of the presentation. Preparation of graduate exhibition to form part of assessment proess.
Reflective journal: charting progress and self management capabilities during the course of the project.
Indicative Syllabus
Self direction and motivation: responsibility and commitment. organisation and management.
Professional work practices: Engage with series of professional practitioners, input and connections, graduation exhibition preparation and management.
Project: Devising/producing collaborative professional performance piece, recorded /live.
Portfolio: prepare for professional presentation, create website, communication skills. c.v. etc
