Description

In the last semester of the course learners will be involved in two theatre productions: a final year show of a specific theatre genre and a graduation show. Both productions seek to replicate professional theatre practice as closely as possible. Students will be auditioned, cast, and directed in full-length plays and perform to public audiences.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

apply the work ethics required of a professional actor

2.

apply research, analysis, knowledge and understanding to create imaginative and original characterisation

3.

apply a broad range of vocal and physical, psychological and emotional skills and techniques to support characterisation

4.

consistently demonstrate the high levels of energy and vitality necessary to sustain and support the work at all times

sustain fully developed imaginative characterisation throughout a full-length show and from one performance to the next

engage with the audience to convey meaning

demonstrate professional practice skills

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Students are to participate in a fully realised production, which can be directed by a professional director.

The course team in association with the director will assess each students contribution/performance.
