PERF06097 2019 Digital Media for Performing Arts 3 (Design)
This module aims to introduce students to the necessary creative and technical skills to produce a simple video project. Students will work individually and in groups from proposal through shooting to video editing.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Originate and develop a project proposal for a video production.
Shoot a very short independent piece, bearing composition, sequencing and audio in mind.
Work within a small group to initiate, organise and shoot a short video on a proposed and agreed topic.
Edit the video into a finished form, incorporating titles, transitions, and color grading, including export to final formats suitable for online delivery.
Deliver a written reflection on the experience; lessons learned, practitioners they studied, notes on the outcome.
Teaching and Learning Strategies
The module will be taught via a series of workshops covering practical application of issues explored.
The students will be required to engage in independent video production during the module, to explore the software available independently and to research and study existing practitioners and their work.

Attendance at the module, class participation and carrying out the coursework tasks

Presentation of a body of work which demonstrates: research and development, observational, analytical, technical, creative and imaginative skills /processes and the achievement of learning outcomes.
