ORBE06007 2022 Organisational Behaviour
The subject aims to introduce students to the key theories, concepts and ideas underpinning individual behaviour and group and organisational processes in organisations. In addition, it aims to introduce students to how to apply this knowledge to organisational settings.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Describe various personality dimensions that are responsible for individual differences in the workplace.
Explain perception and perceptual factors and the role perception plays in organisational settings.
Examine motivation theory and explore the application of motivation theory in the workplace.
Describe different leadership styles in organisations.
Explain the dynamics of groups and teams in an organisational setting.
Discuss conflict in business organisations.
Discuss best practice in managing a healthy workforce.
Explain the processes of organisational change.
Teaching and Learning Strategies
Effective teaching and learning strategies will evolve as the module is delivered However, it is expected that lectures (live, virtual, and/or recorded), practical skills workshops, videos, guest speakers, group work, problem-based learning, and peer review will be core to this module.
Module Assessment Strategies
100% continuous assessment which may be any of the following:
- group project,
- individual project,
- multiple choice quizzes,
- presentations or other appropriate assessment.
Repeat Assessments
Repeat assessments will be developed as appropriate to assess failed elements.
