Description

This module aims to develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts, theories and practices of modern management. The module will also focus on managing oneself as an apprentice in a dynamic work environment.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

Examine the roles and Skills of competent managers and the challenges that face modern managers

2.

Outline the role of management theory and its impact on modern management practices.

3.

Describe and demonstrate knowledge of the key management processes - planning, organising, leading, and controlling.

4.

Describe the forces in the business environment and how organisations can respond to these forces in a dynamic global environment.

5.

Develop Self Management Skills and sucessful communication strategies for people management.
