Description

This module will provide a thorough introduction to  management and focus on practical tools and techniques for effective supervision. It is intended to provide the student with the skills and techniques required to understand how to manage staff in a modern organisation.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

Demonstrate an understanding of management and its evolution. Be able to describe a manager's role and responsibilities.

Explain the skills and qualities of an effective manager.

3.

Describe different types of interpersonal behaviour and how they impact management strategies.

Illustrate a number of tools and techniques for decision making and problem solving

  • Discuss the factors that lead to ethical and unethical behaviour in organisations.

FOUNDATIONS OF DECISION MAKING.

  • Describe the decision-making process.
  • Explain the three approaches managers can use to make decisions.

FOUNDATIONS OF PLANNING.
