This module aims to develop an awareness and understanding of the core functions of management in a dynamic global business environment. Learners will apply management theories and concepts to current business situations in Ireland and internationally. Contemporary business management issues will be explored using practical examples, case studies and lectures.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Demonstrate an awareness of the key functional areas within an organisation
Identify the skills required to co-ordinate the key functional areas and their role in effective business management
Explain the need for cultural awareness in international business environments
Identify key business management issues and trends in the contemporary Irish business environment
Explain the role of ethics and corporate social responsibility
