Description

The purpose of the module is to allow students to consider their conclusions and recommendations from the capstone project in the context of implementation in their workplace or industry, in consultation with relevant personnel. The module is an integral part of the capstone project will provide students with an opportunity for applied learning, which is directly relevant to their workplace or industry. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Present the findings and recommendations of the capstone project in the workplace or industry forum.

2.

Conduct an interview with a relevant workplace manager or industry representative.

3.

Prepare a plan, using an agreed template, to identify resources required for implementation, and any impediments.

4.

Design a poster to illustrate the research and outputs from the capstone project.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

This module is linked to the capstone project preparation and dissertation. Students will be aware of the requirements of this module from the beginning of the research process, as it is an integral part of the process that links back to the workplace or industry. Students will be required to work independently, following the supervision received during the dissertation module. There will be no direct contact classes associated with this module, but resources to support learning will be available to students on Moodle. Students will also be building on skills developed in professional business communications throughout the programme.

Module Assessment Strategies

The module will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. Students will be assessed on the implementation interview and report, as well as the poster. All elements must be completed in order for students to successfully complete the module. The assessment strategy is in line with the CUA Learning, Teaching and Assessment [LTA] Strategy 2020.
