ENVR09035 2019 Energy Systems and Management
On completion of this module, the student will be able to appraise different energy systems and energy efficient technologies, understand and implement a strategic energy management campaign and make a business case for appropriate energy investments.
The module will provide the student with the building blocks to assess an organisation in terms of energy efficiency. It will provide a structured approach to determine opportunities using best practice for a range of sectors/technologies.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Appraise different energy systems, differentiate between them and critique their performance and impacts on the environment
Evaluate the potential benefits from a range of energy technologies
Compare energy technologies and assess their appropriateness for various scenarios
Develop and defend a business case for energy management within an organisation
Communicate the need and benefit of energy management systems
Teaching and Learning Strategies
This module will be delivered part‑time. This will include lectures, practicals, and site visits augmented by independent learning and directed learning. This approach is expected to address student learning needs. Moodle will be used as a repository of educational resources and as a means of assessment (e.g. quizzes, uploading assignments and journals).

This module is 50% Continuous Assessment and 50% Final exam.
