Teaching and Learning Strategies

This module is 100% Continuous Assessment. The approach provides a learning strategy based on research-focused processes where the students investigate questions or problems of wide scope. They must use evidence-based reasoning and creative problem-solving to reach a conclusion, which they defend or present.

This approach is expected to address student learning needs. Moodle will be used as a repository of educational resources.

Module Assessment Strategies

The module comprises a number scenarios, typically running over a period of three weeks each, in which the students apply knowledge to solve the question or problem. Normally this will be achieved in a group setting. in which students are collectively & individually responsible to deliver their work in a professional manner according to agreed criteria & timeline(s). These Include, but are not restricted to: case studies; research projects; data handling analysis and recommendations; interviews; oral presentations; production of written information/awareness raising documents, employer-focussed reports, policy recommendations.

Students are given clear instructions at the beginning of each scenario outlining the particular issue. The marking scheme for each scenario includes marks for both process and product mark.
