The module addresses the need for practitioners, working with children and young people, to provide an environment where the welfare of the child is paramount. Students will complete the Health Services Executive accredited Keeping Safe Child Protection training, in line with Children First Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children, 2011. Areas addressed in the training include signs and symptoms of abuse, reporting procedures of suspected abuse along with good recruitment practices.
