DSGN08073 2019 Portfolio (Professional Designer)
In this module students will create an advanced professional digital C.V and portfolio where they will use design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Audacity, Dreamweaver and Wix to produce a digital portfolio and a web presences. The students will be introduced to the technology and software required to create a web presences for the end of year design showcase.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
Create an personal professional logo and brand for a digital and print portfolio.
Use professional digital software to produce an online digital portfolio.
Create an professional digital CV & porfolio which will be use in conjunction with Professional Practice module for interviews which are organise with employers and to gain future employment as a designer when they graduate.
Have the knowledge to produce a digital presence for the end of year Design Showcase through the use of web and social media.
Module Assessment Strategies
The subject will be evaluated by a combination of tutorials, assignments and project work.
The student will receive instruction in a specific area in the form of a lecture or tutorial. This will be followed by assignments where the student applies the knowledge gained. The semester will conclude with a project.
Indicative Syllabus
Digital CV & Portfolio: Use software to produce an engaging digital user experience that showcases the student's work to date and also demonstrates their competences as a professional designer.
The students will be exposed to the software for the creation of a web presence for the final year Design Showcase.
Understand the key elements required to create a high-quality portfolio.
Professional update of their design course project work for a portfolio to industry standard.
