Description

This module will cover 3D CAD modelling and techniques. The module will encompass CAD modelling whereby students will be able to operate a 3D parametric solid modelling system to create regular parts and simple assemblies.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Produce 3 Dimensional regular parts using a solid modelling system.

2.

Create regular assemblies and part relationships.

3.

Make a 2D drawings using 3D parts and assemblies.

4.

Introduction to creating exploded views

Module Assessment Strategies

The subject will be evaluated by a combination of tutorials, short assignments and projects.

The student will receive instruction in a specific area in the form of a tutorial. This will be followed by shorts assignments and design projects where the student applies the knowledge gained. The semester will conclude whereby the students will present a portifolio of assignments and project work.
