This studio-based module introduces the design process. A series of design challenges introduce learners to design for (i) function (spatial planning and human ergonomics); (ii) atmosphere and aesthetics (light, colour, texture of materials, scale and spatial qualities) and (iii)  place and environment (sustainability, comfort and physical context). This module is closely aligned to Design Fundamentals: Representation Skills  in which design and communication skills are introduced.
