Description

This module will provide students with the knowledge and skills to create operate and manage a fully coordinated BIM model. The module will provide students with the ability to work collaboratively in a BIM environment. The module will provide an understanding of the BIM process and standards required for successful delivery of a BIM level 2 project.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Create, operate and manage fully coordinated models using collaboration software.

2.

Identify and resolve coordination issues within the BIM model.

3.

Create a shared BIM project using appropriate on line cloud based tools and practices.

4.

Interpret the regulations and regulatory environment applied to BIM and the BIM process.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

This module will be delivered using blended learning techniques. This will include lectures, practical demonstrations and tutorial assistance. Students will be required to undertake assignments during classes and will be required to undertake additional project work in private study time. Moodle will be used to upload educational material (i.e. presentations and recordings of lectures plus supplementary reading material).

Clash Detection: Overview, selection, settings, rules, results and reporting.
