Description

This module will provide students with the knowledge and skills to construct comprehensive multi-level building information models using BIM authoring software. It will give students the ability to interrogate and analyze a model to obtain information for the design, construction and maintenance phases of a building.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.

Use BIM authoring software to accurately create comprehensive multi-level Architectural BIM models.

2.

Design and construct building components and families for use in a building model.

3.

Interrogate a building model to extract accurate data required for the design, construction and the whole life cycle of a building.

4.

Formulate and apply solutions to design and construction problems as they occur.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

This module will be delivered using blended learning techniques. This will include lectures, practical demonstrations and tutorial assistance. Students will be required to undertake assignments during classes and will be required to undertake additional project work in private study time. Moodle will be used to upload educational material (i.e. presentations and recordings of lectures plus supplementary reading material).
