Description

In this module the student will learn how to use a number of business applications in the correct manner to accomplish business tasks. These tasks include project management, time management, content creation, data collection, communication and collaboration. The students will be able to plan, research, collaborate, manage and communicate by familiarising themselves using a variety of ICT applications. The students will be able to access the various paid and free applications and identify the key criteria for providing an effective solution for many everyday business problems.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

Use a number of management applications which allow collaboration on a project

Create and edit digital content which can be used for a variety of business purposes

3.

Demonstrate use of data collection and presentation/visualisation applications

4.

Incorporate mobile devices and applications for business tasks

Teaching and Learning Strategies

The learner will be shown how to use the various applications including the best practise to achieve high quality business objectives. The learner will be expected to complete tasks using this application to demonstrate knowledge of the package.

Module Assessment Strategies

This module is 100% continuous assessment. The learner will be assessed through both individual and group projects with the final project being conducted completely online.

Repeat Assessments

The learner is required to repeat any failed elements from the module.

Indicative Syllabus

Project Management

Learners will use a number of project management applications and collaborate on a project

Communication & Collaboration

Along with email the learner will be required to conduct a project online using collaboration applications including video/audio conferencing, social media and cloud based project management application.

Data collection & Visualisation

The learner will research, create and run a data collection exercise incorporation good data collection principles (eg GDPR & Ethical). This data will be processed into meaning information in a number of forms including charts, infographics and digital media.

Content creation

Create content for a variety of business situation including data presentation, product demonstration, promotions and Social/digital media marketing.
