The module introduces learners to the structure and functions of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. The module also relates the structure and functions of biological macromolecules.

Cell structure and function
The structure of a typical eukaryotic cell. The structures and functions of the organelles of a eukaryotic cell. The structure of a typical prokaryotic cell, bacterial growth.
Biological Macromolecules
The structure and function of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids.
Enzymes & Metabolism
The structure & function of enzymes, their role in metabolism.
