ART09001 2019 Interdiscplinary Craft and Technique
In this module learners work in a collaborative experimental environment where they challenge their thinking about making work in general and about their own practice in particular.
Learners will explore the why, what, how, where of the work that they make and the why, what, how, where of their art in a broader context, demonstrating professionalism throughout the process to the final presentation for an audience.
On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;
explore arts interdisciplinarity within a range of contexts, with a range of artists, performers, and co-collaborators and participate in a range of public performances/presentations
demonstrate appropriate professional management skills for public presentation/exhibit/performance
develop collaborative and problem-solving skills necessary to interdisciplinary work
develop, enhance and inform their own arts practice
creatively generate and present ideas for an individual or collaborative project, performance, exploration or dissertation
critically analyse their own practice/performance, and that of others
Synthesise and evaluate the learning in a portfolio of their work
Teaching and Learning Strategies
Learners engage with speakers/practitioners from different disciplines.
Learners engage with off-site collaborative activities in order to broaden their practice.
Learners will engage in peer-to-peer learning.
Tutor-led discussions will be part of this module.

Produce/Perform/Present a piece of creative work for an audience - 60%
Write a reflection on the creative process of working with collaborators - 40%
Students must repeat attend this module.
Learners experience a range of disciplines in order to explore other practices alongside their own creative practice.
