Description

Continuing from Printmaking 3, Printmaking 4 is led primarily by conceptual and thematic concerns. These concerns will be shaped and focused through thematic studio projects, common across the different studio areas. The possibilities of printmaking will be further explored and allied to the general development of the individual student's ideas and visual language. Themes and concepts in printmaking will be explored through illustrated lectures and discussion of related themes across a range of the visual arts.

In the final week of the semester, the assessment will be based on a presentation of course work. The presentation will include working drawings and other images, notebooks, proofs, and final prints. There will also be a formal mid-semester review.

The students achievement will be measured on the evidence of their submitted work. The effective development, execution and presentation of course work will be evaluated.

Repeat Assessments

A comprehensive repeat project brief will be offered to students who fail to achieve a pass grade or better for the module. The repeat project will contain a comprehensive project brief requiring a response through a variety of printmaking media. The deadline for the repeat project will be August 31 of the relevant academic year.
